So it's back to the big-girl job after a long but rewarding weekend at NCA All Star Cheerleading Nationals in Dallas. We took 3 teams and came home with 2 National Championships and a great finish to the season for my special needs boys and girls. I've embedded the videos so you can watch and see why I'm gushing and sooooooo proud! It was suggested that I wear my sweet new "NCA National Champion" jacket to court at some time in the near future. ;)

Here's my special needs boys and girls, the Shining Starz. They did sooooo amazing! We hit our routine and came in 3rd out of 6! We were VERY excited about that. The team that won did so great! Congrats Cheer Central Suns! Our routine theme is Wizard of Oz/ Wicked so listen for that in the music. They performed in the Arena where all the really good Level 5 and Level 6 teams perform and at the end you can see all those kids get on their feet to give them a standing ovation. That part gets me crying every time.

Next up, the "FAMOUS" Youth 2 Girlies! NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! We made some changes on finals day to push for a few more points, and these girls really stepped up to take home the jackets from this division! Their routine theme was "Famous" so listen for all the details in their music... I think they really enjoyed that theme!

And last... yeah, like literally last of the whole competition to warm-up and perform, the Senior 2 team. I was cracking up because after we finished warming up, the people were standing there waiting to pack up the timers, signs and gatorade in the warm up room. hahaha

I've known some of these girls since they were very small and some of them help with the Shining Starz special needs team. They are all such beautiful young ladies. It makes my <3 happy! So check out the NCA National Champions and HIGH POINT AWARD WINNERS!

New Haul Vid

Hey peeps! I'm working on a post about Brave Girl Camp. It's just hard to put into words how amazing, awesome, fantastic it was! :) Also, I haven't uploaded my photos to my computer yet.

I filmed this haul vid last night of some yummy goodies I got a LSS. It's not in my town, but in a neighboring city. One of my new friends Lisa that I met a Brave Girl Camp told me I had to visit! It was a yummy store.... beautiful inspiration everywhere! I just picked up some new Echo Park and stamps. I also hit up Hobby Lobby and Michael's. The vid is below. ENJOY!

Also, I mention in my vid that I got some stuff from the Hobby Lobby closeout store. I always hesitate to show that because I know some people like haul videos so they can go out and get the same bargains, and that store is the only one of its kind. The comments thus far on YT have been to show it so I'll try to film that tonight.

25 Things You Don't Know About Me...

I was inspired recently by my favorite literary publication... er... *cough* US Weekly. They have a regular feature that's "25 Things You Don't Know About [Insert Celebrity Name Here]" See examples below...

Since I'm a celebrity in my own mind, I'm joking, kind of, I decided, I'd give you 25 Things You May or May Not Know ~~or not give a crap about knowing~~ about mADDmartha megan. And you might want to read through the end because there might be a HUGE, Mega, Monstrous announcement about the life of yours truly. And no, I'm not getting married or something. PSSSH! Not even close. ;)

I have naturally curly hair and got called Shirley Temple as a kid.
I'm the worst procrastinator in the world... hmmm? You probably already knew that since I'm an infrequent blog poster.
I didn't get my ears pierced until I was 18 years old.
I absolutely, 100% HATE sleeping. I'm such a night owl that I wish the human body didn't require sleep.
I only have 1/2 my thyroid. I had the other 1/2 along with a golf ball sized tumor removed when I was 18.
I love - love - love roller coasters.
I was in a sorority and lived with 107 other girls for 2 years.
I'm a total pack rat and deathly afraid I'll end up one of those hoarding TV shows.
I'm obsessed with Saturday Night Live. Riiiccccckkkkk!!!!! :)

I went paragliding in the swiss alps. You basically run off the side of a mountain. It was cool. Above is a pic from when I was in Switzerland.
I do not care for cats... like AT ALL.
I have 2 nieces and 1 is named after me.
I was cheer captain and prom queen in high school but not a mean girl.

I made my first scrapbook in 8th grade... actually I don't think it ever really got "finished." Funny how things don't change.
I'm a Brave Girl and have dreamed of going to Brave Girls Camp. Click the link to read all about it. Well as of this morning, I'm going. ON TUESDAY!!! Yes, Tuesday, February 8th!!! I was on the waiting list and someone couldn't go. I tapped myself out paying for it and buying a hugely expensive plane ticket, but I'm investing in myself. I truly believe the stars aligned on this. I need this. You should totally check out the Brave Girls' Club website. They have the most awesome e-mail list you can sign up for that sends you an e-mail of positive thoughts/ inspiration.

I AM SOOOOO EXCITED! And please know that I am going to try my best going forward to pre-shoot some YouTube videos and write some blog posts so I'm not as boring as I have been. Promise! :)

Sneaky, Sneaky!

Let's get sneaky, sneaky! I've got a sneak peak at a project I've been working on. The photo isn't amazing-- I took it on my Blackberry. But I hope it leaves you wanting to see more... I've been enjoying this project because it's somewhat out of my normal scrapping comfort zone. I think it's good to push yourself that way. That's how I roll... Anyway, quit rambling Meg and show 'em the goods!

I've been lawyerin' way too hard this week but had awesome Christmas parties for both my cheer teams yesterday. They were so fun!

Not Studying!

My non-scrappy facebook has just brought to my attention that some of my friends are currently in the hell known as law school finals. Now, I used to think that was hell... until I did my bar exam prep which was even worse!

TessieGirl and I have been very busy lawyering, cheer coaching, face painting, and not getting enough crafty time in, but still, I am so thankful that I'm not in the midst of stressful exam prep and can actually gear up for the holidays.

I've been trying to stay out of the crafty stores... at least until I get my Christmas shopping completely done. This little gem popped in my inbox today though: 50% off any regularly priced item at Michael's.

By the numbers...

I've been trying to clean my scrapbook room. I feel overwhelmed in there! I've got to get rid of some stuff, but I just have such a hard time parting with some of my scrapbooking supplies. Also, I'm trying to simplify my life overall... how much stuff does one person really need? I'm motivated to really limit my spending and GET RID OF SOME OF THIS CLUTTER!

Well here's what I discovered about my stash and scrapbooking room... by the numbers.

4: Cricut Machines. Cricut Expression (best purchase ever off Craigslist... and ya'll thought that bundle of stuff I got this summer was good. lol); Martha Stewart Cricut Cake; Cricut Imagine; Plum Cricut Expression

73: Cricut Cartridges. It's a mixed bag of full carts, solutions, and lites.

36: Bottles of Glimmer Mist. I should mist more. hehe That sounds funny.

31: Scrapbooking Magazines. I really should start a folder where I tear out the sketches and toss them after a period of time. I never reference them but just can't let go.

5: Aprons. When would I need 5 aprons? Well in my defense, 4 of them were a buck each. Gotta love the Dollar Tree, but my "It's only a dollar" purchases do add up!

123: Dollar Stamps / Snag Em Stamps. REALLY? I'm stamp (buying) crazy; time to get stamp (stamping) crazy.

42: Plastic Containers FULL of supplies sorted by theme or brand. And I could still use more? REALLY?

???: I didn't even try to count my paper stacks. I did count the number of DCWV ones I own recently and it was OBSCENE I tell you!!! That's a post for another day when I have time for some wine and crying. hahaha :)

This by the numbers thing was pretty eye opening. Now let's see if I'm strong enough to overcome my hoarding tendencies and get rid of some of this STUFF!

I love Tim Holtz. Like all of us, I'm kind of obsessed with him. And it's funny because his style isn't really what I'm normally drawn to. I like my "distress" a little less grungy generally but there's just something about him that draws me to him. He's so cute and passionate about this art form, and I'm sure that's a big part of it. Well he posted this freakin' adorable video that's like a movie trailer to a feature length film I'd definitely want to see!

The Redesign

Hello friends!
My big fat blog redesign has finally gotten underway. I'm sure I'll tweak some things here and there, but I'm super excited to have a new "look." My old blog design was cute, it just wasn't me. Now I've got to do more blog posts on the new "me" blog design. :)

My Imagine came via FedEx today, and I am going crazy. It was delivered at 11:38 am and here it is 4:08, and I'm still at work! The minutes are draggggggiiiinnnggggggggggg on! TessieGirl and I will post a YouTube vid ASAP.

Your Paper Pantry

I joined Roxy & Samantha's new community thing. It's so awesome thus far I'm just loving it! There's a group called Finish It Fridays where we all try to tackle our half completed projects. I also started a group, that's just awaiting moderator approval right now, called Stop Buying! Start CREATING!. It's for those of us that have a little bit of trouble reigning in our scrappy budgets.... as I look guility at the floor. I've just got to start usin' what I've got. I plan on using that, my YouTube and this blog to do my scrappy Scrap Your Stash style challenges so check back.

Oh and my Finish It Friday is my scrap room and I've been hard at work. Still trying to split it up into smaller more accomplishable goals though!

Finish It Friday

I enrolled in "Finish It Friday" on my good friends Roxy & Samantha's new ning network.... and I put a dent in getting my scrappy goods back in my scrappy room! They've exploded EVERYWHERE!!!! That's also thanks to the fact that I was able to drag them all out then get sick and not be able to go through them as planned. That's my first "Finish It Friday" project though, but I need to split it up into some smaller more accomplishable goals. Any ideas on how to do that?

I dunno. I guess I'll think on it and get back to ya! hahaha

OK. That's a little dramatic! But I have a horrible cold. At least, I hope it's just a cold and not strep or something. I'm like 99.9% sure that I had a fever yesterday but I had a surprise birthday party that I was helping out with. I couldn't miss that so I toughed it out then got home and just crashed. I got up today about 2:00. Luckily I don't have class on Thursdays & Fridays so I can get better.

Hopefully I'll feel a little better to do some scrapping today... so I can make a project and not just haul videos. Seriously. Gotta do a project asap.

Anyway, just an update. Now it's back to bed for me!

Hey to anyone out there in blog-land.
Sorry I haven't been updating enough. It was back to law school today. YAY! (insert sarcasm) So I've been a 'lil busy, not to mention grades came out. YAY! (insert even more sarcasm!!!) Also, my area is supposed to get SLAMMED, and that may be an understatement, with a winter storm that is going to be horrible. I'm headed to my parents after class and work tomorrow because they have a generator, aka will have heat and food. YAY! (only a little bit of sarcasm...) It should be fun to spend time with my family, but I'll probably be without craft supplies. **tear** Maybe I can pack up a crop bag tonight. My sleep schedule is still not on track for school so I'll probably stay up all night tonight. Maybe I'll get out of school for this storm. I wouldn't have any sarcasm to add to a YAY! about that.

Crafty Stitcher Review

People were asking me to let them know if the small crafty stitcher I got at Tuesday Morning worked. I got it out and I'm pleased to say that I really like it. It's going to get spot where it can live on my desk so I can use machine stitching on my pages more often! And for the small projects I always want to try after seeing awesome ideas out in blog land. hey y'all! I didn't get to post the challenge yet, but I'm excited to do so!
I am babysitting tonight for a friend, and I'm planning on doing some fun Valentine's Crafts with the kiddos. The parents always tell me, "You don't always have to bring a craft or something to do..." Uh yeah, but I'd be weirder than I am trying out all my kiddie craft ideas. At home. Alone. hahaha

I'm using those kids to test out my crafts! Well not completely but it does make me look a little less weird. We're going to make heart shaped crayons for Valentine's and maybe a few other things. I'll post some pictures of everything!

a chilly day... and trying to be productive

It is so freakin' cold here today... and I've been in this really vicious cycle of bad sleep! I wasn't feeling well yesterday so I ended up sleeping way too late that caused me to stay up way too late then I stayed up way too late again then slept way too late. You get the picture! It didn't help that it's sooooo cold outside-- so cold that schools got cancelled and the university offices opened late today because of the bad weather. I have cheer practice with my little cheer girls, then I'm planning on issuing the first Scrap Your Stash Challenge. And a giveaway! I'm so excited about it! I'm going to have my first YouTube / Blog giveaway. I just hope I can stay warm until then... :(
